Feather Hi Stainless Platinum Double Edge Safety Razor Blades

Feather blades are legendary. They are loved by traditional wet shaving veterans. This double edge safety razor blade is often called the best and people keep asking where to buy it.
Feather Blades Background
These blades are made in Japan by Feather company. You know that Japanese have a strict discipline when it comes to precision. They are not kidding when they are trying to make the sharpest blade on this earth.
The company even make medical knives! You know that doctors need precision cutting tools when they do surgeries. The knives should be extremely sharp and precise. You do not want your doctor to cut the wrong artery, do you?
Hi Stainless Platinum Coated Blades
Back to our shaving needs. Feather coated their blades with platinum. This is to provide a very smooth cut. It also helps to shave a lot closer.
The stainless blade is very thin and the edge is very sharp. Because of this, some people reported that they can only get 3-4 shaves per blade before they tossed the blade away. I can understand this because our whiskers can be very hard and thick. Coarse hairs can damage the blade fast.
When you choose Feather Hi-Stainless Platinum DE razor blades as your weapon, please remember to use NO PRESSURE at all.
I know that some people will recommend you to combine this sharp (and aggressive) blade with a mild razor. I don’t think that is not the main concern.
You will need to know the proper technique and preparation for shaving. If you are a beginner in wet shaving, try the hot towel preparation. The hot water will help your whiskers soften and make the shaving a lot easier. Not to mention more comfortable.
Since I live in the tropics, I always shave with cold water. The cold water is what I want after a hot long day under the sun.
Use A Good Shave Soap
You will need a good cushion and protection from your lather. I prefer my own handmade Ice Sandalwood BeShaved shave soap but you can choose some of the best shave soap out there.
You need to properly build your lather. (Noticed how often I use the word “properly”?) Your lather is your only protection from the sharp edge of this blade.
A good lather will help you:
- Moisten your skin
- Soften your hair
- Glide your razor effortlessly
When you shave with Feather blade (or any other blades), you should only GLIDE. Do not drag the razor over your skin. You might scrap your face off. That’s why I recommended of using NO PRESSURE at all. A good lather will definitely help you glide your razor.
You can check my recommendation for shaving soap here.
Feather Blade Performance
I really love how Feather razor blades perform. People keep singing their praises for this blade. They got a lot of close shaves from it.
Sure, some people get irritated easily. Mainly because their skin is already sensitive. You can’t blame the blade because of your skin conditions. Like I said above, you need to practice a better technique.
I will say that Feather blade is one of the sharpest blade out there. If a perfect blade is a 10, then Feather can easily be a 9.
For its durability, I am a bit bias here. I don’t have a coarse hair and have a small area of facial hair. Only on upper lips and on my chin. No facial hairs on my cheeks or jawline. I will say that one blade can last me 4-6 weeks. So for me, Feather has a high durability.
Where To Buy Feather Blade
The price of Feather blade is a bit higher than other brands. It is because it has a higher quality.
I love how easy we can shop online nowadays. I always search the product that I want from the Internet. That’s why I can recommend you to check Amazon for the latest price of Feather blade.

A lot of people love its sharpness but some had fallen victims to its aggressiveness. I will recommend you to try this blade after trying other more forgiving blades.
